Dance Outreach

Contemporary Ballet Dallas is dedicated to promoting arts appreciation and cultivating local art by serving as a platform for emerging artists and choreographers. We promote arts appreciation by implementing outreach programs that make dance accessible to underserved communities.

CBD’s community services include donating a number of show tickets to underserved communities, including: low-income families, groups such as Child Protective Services of Dallas, Boles Children’s Homes, and ArtReach.

Additionally, CBD has partnered with RISD schools, offering free afternoon concerts for children, presenting opportunities to experience being “on-stage” and held proactive lecture demonstrations. Some of CBD’s other previous outreach efforts include the CBD Chance to Dance Program. This program offered free dance classes to visually impaired and other special needs children, including those with Down Syndrome & other developmental disabilities.

CBD, in partnership with Buckner Children’s House, Dallas have designed a program to provide children between the ages of 8 and 12 the chance to experience movement and creative expression.
Developing the foundation in a growing child with dance is seen as a powerful ingredient for children to develop physically, emotionally, socially, and cognitively.

Movement within a class structured offers children an outlet for physical release while gaining awareness and appreciation of oneself and others.

CBD company members are not only committed to their craft but wish to enrich the lives of at risk children in their community
