Contemporary Ballet Dallas [“CBD”] closes its 14th Anniversary season of concert dance with Spring Forward April 24-25, 2015, 8:00pm, at the Latino Cultural Center. Spring Forward features several premieres continuing CBD’s mission to present innovative dance performances while cultivating emerging dance artists and choreographers in North Texas.
Local choreographer Addison Reed premieres Springtime in Paris, reminding us of the innocence and joy of young love! Choreographer Jennifer Obeney is premiering Relative Chaos. Relative Chaos features the mystical sounds of music by Nigel Stanford and draws on the nine planets in the solar system to bring order. Director Valerie Tabor will premiere The Ballet Waltz, a classic ballet set to Chopin’s popular Waltz in C-sharp minor.
Mrs. Tabor is also restaging audience favorites A Change is Coming and ASSERCITUS!. ASSERCITUS! features a modern movement base and is set to the driving sounds of various Gregorian chants. A Change is Coming includes songs by The Beatles and focuses on bringing harmony between different people.
