Keep Calm & Dance On

CBD closed its season Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 8:00 with Keep Calm & Dance On! Keep Calm & Dance On! showcased the Director’s favorite works and highlighted audience hits throughout the past seasons. Director Valerie Shelton Tabor re-staged excerpts from “Invisible Links.” “Invisible Links” is set to the moving music of pianist Ed Harcourt and explored the concept of former lives and how they connect us to the past. Jennifer Obeney offered her interpretation of the Chauvet Cave paintings in her piece, “Origin.” Choreographer and dancer Leslie Hale restaged her piece from Proof of Life, “Time Signature,” which considered the life of an artificial heart. Local choreographer Erin Mallar Boone restaged “Glass Flowers” based off the paintings of Vincent Van Gogh’s sunflower series, as well, her audience favorite “Fandango for Four.”Sep 14,Barber’s Adagio for Strings & Debussy’s La Fille aux Cheveux de Lin with Open Classical’s live accompaniment, Klyde Warren Park,6:30-8:00pm.
