CBD resurrected its
Halloween extravaganza with Danse Macabre!kChoreographers Jill Rucci, Kate Walker & Jennifer Arellano all premiered new works. Jennifer Obeney's piece, "Dance Noir," told the story of a gritty private
eye and the trouble a dame can brew, set to the rock stylings of Muse! The evening also featured a performance by our guest
artists, Ewert & Company. Ewert & Company was celebrating its 11th season, as
well!And Artistic Director Valerie Shelton Tabor restaged audience favorite, “Not a CLUE!” -
a classic murder mystery! The reviews are in and the show was a great success!
Sidewalk Storiesexamined urban life from
several perspectives, telling their individual stories and encapsulating their collective experiences. This was be the first
ballet for the Texas Theatre, a beautifully remodeled venue that has recently gained astounding popularity with Oak Cliff
arts fans providing nightly showings of rarely seen indie films. Featuring premieres by Director Valerie Tabor to music
by The Cure; Guest choreographer Michael Mayes' "Oil & Water," music by Grace Williams; Jill S. Rucci premiered
"Walk On" to the music of Nina Simone; and feautured Guest Companies Rhythmic Souls and Epiphany Dance Arts. Jennifer Obeney premiered "A Round of Regulars," set to original music written and
performed live by Leslie Brown.
